Catechism:
This Week’s Catechism
Why can life seem so painful, hard and meaningless?
A: Because people rebelled against God and became alienated from him, choosing to walk in darkness rather than light, loving evil more than good, and loving ourselves more than anything else. Even the physical world is stained by human rebellion, which the Bible calls sin. Sin ruins our relationship with God, the world, one another, and ourselves. The wages of sin is death. Sin ruins everything in its path, and makes us face God as Judge rather than Father and friend.
Genesis 3, Psalm 51:1-5, Romans 3:19-20, Romans 6:23, Colossians 1:21
